How to Install the Alexapure Water Filtration System
If you’re new to installation, the process can be tricky. Assembling all the parts correctly and setting up the whole apparatus requires a detailed manual. However, once you get the hang of it, installing water filters will be a breeze.
The good thing about the Alexapure water filter is that it comes with a user-friendly, easy guide and components that aren’t complex at all. The gravity-fed mechanism only makes the installation ten times easier as compared to other water filtration systems. Here’s how you can install this system.
Step 1 – Assembling the Chambers
The Alexapure Filtration system has two main chambers – the stainless steel upper and the lower chambers. To assemble the apparatus, you will first have to dismantle the two chambers to insert the water filter. Begin by removing the steel lid from the top.
Simply, detach the upper chamber from the lower one, and clean each part thoroughly. You will notice four holes in the upper chamber where 4 filters shall be inserted.
Step 2: Attaching the spigot.
You will also find different parts for spigot assembly, which is supposed to be inserted in the space provided at the lower chamber. Take out the spigot parts from the pack. Remove the upper chamber and insert the spigot into the hole at the lower bottom of the lower chamber.
Carefully fasten its rear part towards the inside of the lower chamber. Make sure the spigot is tight. You can also try pulling it up and down to check if it’s flexible.
Step 3 – Bring Out the Alexapure Filter
The Alexapure filter is packed in a white-colored secure box. You will find the packed box inside the chambers during the initial unboxing. As mentioned before, you will notice four spaces in the chamber to insert the filter. You may install one to four filters in the chamber. One filter can support up to 5000 gallons of water throughout its lifetime.
Step 4: Unboxing the Alexapure Filter
Now, it’s time to unpack the Alexapure Home filter. You will find the filter carefully placed inside a silver-colored air-locked bag to protect it from moisture. The equipment is further secured in a grey-colored, foam gear that prevents breakage and damage during the shipping process. You will also find a manual informing you about the water filter and its installation.
Step 5: Understanding the Four Filter Holes
The upper chamber has four filter holes where the Alexapure filtration system will be inserted. You can fasten the filter in either of the holes and block the remaining holes with rubber plugs to avoid spillage.
Step 6: Remove One Rubber Plug
There are three rubber-tight seals included in the box. Carefully insert all of them in the filter holes and secure them properly. Make sure all the rubber plugs are fastened in the filter holes of the upper chamber. To insert the Alexapure filtration system, carefully remove one rubber plug from the hole.
Step 7: The Filter Space
After removing the plug, you can see that now there is space available for the filter. The filter is supposed to be inserted from the internal side of the chamber. A tiny portion of the filter will stick out from the lower part of the chamber. It will then have to be tightened and secured well.
Step 8: Cut Open the Alexapure Filter Packaging
Now it’s time to cut open the filter packaging and bring out the magic instrument - the Alexapure Certified water filter. The airtight packaging is to ensure that moisture doesn’t gather up within the filter.
You can just tear open this packaging. Make sure you keep a pair of scissors around as it can be very handy. Now cut open the wrapper and slowly pull out the filter. Ensure that you pull it out safely; if you are not careful, it may fall out unexpected. Also the filter will be wet and this is normal. Please note you will have to cycle through one or two times prior before drinking.
Step 9: Voila! A New Water Filter
The Alexapure water filter is smooth, cylindrical-shaped, and black in color. Once pulled out of the package, it’s ready to use. The filter is made up of carbon block core and covered in a silver-infused ceramic shell.
Step 10 – Insert the Alexapure Water Filter into the Chamber’s Hole
Now you can take the Alexapure water filter and insert it inside the filter hole from where you removed the rubber plug. The small end of the filter is supposed to go through the hole and come out the other side.
Step 11: Fasten the Rubber Washer outside the Chamber
When inserting the filter, lay the chamber down on the table horizontally. To fasten the filter from the other end, you will require a washer (a rubber ring) to do so. You can tighten the washer around the small end of the filter sticking out of the chamber. This will make sure that the filter is properly fastened and secured.
Step 12 – Alternatively, Place the Rubber Washer inside the Chamber
Instead of fastening the rubber washer after inserting the filter, you can place it inside the chamber. In other words, before inserting the filter through the other end, put on the rubber washer around the small end of the filter, and then place it inside the hole of the chamber. This is an easy and quick way to get the filter started.
Step 13 – Tighten the Filter with the Screwing tool fastener
Once the filter has been properly inserted, you can fasten the part of the filter sticking from the bottom of the chamber with the screwing tool that comes in the package.
Step 14 – Place the Upper Chamber over the Lower One
Now that the main work is done, carefully pick up the upper chamber and secure it on top of the lower one. Make sure that it’s attached properly to avoid accidents.
Step 15 – You’re Good to Go!
Now that your new filter has been properly installed, it’s time to enjoy clean, tasty water! However, make sure not to overfill both the chambers with water; otherwise, it will lead to spillage. Clean the chambers regularly to avoid any mold or stains.
Always keep a check on the water flow. When the water flow reduces, it means that it is time to change the filter. Ensure that you keep a check and change the filter of your Alexapure when it’s required. This is the easiest way to maintain it.
Cleaning and Care of Your Alexapure Water Filter
Even when the filter requires little to no maintenance, it’s important to take care of it to prolong its service life. Here’s what you can do.
Cleaning the Chambers Regularly
Since both the upper and lower chambers are made of steel, simply clean with a damp cloth once or twice a week. This will ensure that the apparatus remains dust-free and squeaky clean all week. Before your first use, make sure to thoroughly rinse the interior with cool, clean water.
Cleaning the Exterior of the Filters
When untreated water enters the filter, the high mineral content may cause unwanted build-up on the ceramic shells. While this doesn’t affect the filtration process, it’s important to keep the outer surface clean. You can scrub the exterior of the filter with a scour pad and clean water. Make sure not to use any harsh soaps or abrasives.
Changing the Filters
While the gravity block filter works hard to provide fresh, clean, and healthy water for you and your family, make sure to change the filters when needed. If you notice reduced water flow through the filter, then it’s time to change the filter.
You’ve probably realized by now that installing a filter is quite easy. Study the manual carefully and follow the above-mentioned instructions to enjoy clean water right out of the Alexapure filter!
